Bangladesh whitewashed the hosts West Indies 3-0 in the T20 series. Bangladesh defeated the Caribbeans by a big margin of 80 runs in the third and final T20 match of the series at the Aaron’s Vale Ground in Kingstown, St. Vincent today.<\/p>\n
Batting first, Bangladesh scored a huge total of 189 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs. In reply, the West Indies innings was bundled out for 109 runs in 16.4 overs. This is the second-highest margin of victory for Bangladesh in T20s. The 84-run victory against Papua New Guinea in the 2021 World Cup is Bangladesh’s best so far.<\/p>\n
Bangladesh already secured the series by winning two consecutive matches. This is the first time Bangladesh has whitewashed the Windies by winning the last match.<\/p>\n
This is the third time that Bangladesh has whitewashed an opponent 3-0. The Tigers whitewashed Ireland in 2012 and England 3-0 in 2023.<\/p>\n
Bangladesh got off to a flying start after winning the toss on Friday morning and opting to bat. Bangladesh scored 54 runs for 2 wickets in 6 overs of the power play.<\/p>\n
Parvez Hossain Emon scored 39 runs off 21 balls with 4 runs and 2 sixes. Liton Kumar Das also failed today and scored 14 runs off 13 balls with 3 fours and 14 runs.<\/p>\n
Mehedi Hasan Miraj departed for 29 runs for 3 fours and 23 balls. Bangladesh were in trouble after losing 6 wickets for 114 runs in 14.5 overs.<\/p>\n
But then Zaker Ali Anik went on a rampage. He batted his best in his career. He scored an unbeaten 72 runs off just 41 balls with 3 fours and 6 sixes. As a result, Bangladesh scored 75 runs in the last 5 overs.<\/p>\n
Zaker even took 20 runs in the 18th over of Obed McCoy and 25 runs in the 20th over of Alzarri Joseph.<\/p>\n
Chasing a big target of 190 runs, West Indies’ innings was stopped for 109 runs with 20 balls to spare. Rishad Hossain took 3 wickets while Taskin Ahmed and Sheikh Mehedi took 2 wickets each.
