US billionaire Elon Musk has confirmed that his company Starlink has applied to launch internet services in Pakistan. However, it is awaiting approval from the country’s government.<\/p>\n
Musk made this comment on Sunday in response to a post by Pakistani netizen Sanam Jamali on social media.<\/p>\n
In the post, Jamali said that Starlink internet services can take Pakistan “towards a future where every citizen has the opportunity to connect and develop.”<\/p>\n
At the same time, Jamali appealed to Musk, saying, “Please, give Starlink the opportunity to be our bridge to the future.”<\/p>\n
Later, in another post, Jamali asked, has Pakistan “approved Starlink?” Along with that, she tagged Musk and wrote, “Now is the right time to bring your transformative internet service to our country. Millions of people are waiting for Starlink’s connectivity, education and opportunities. Please, expedite the process of launching Starlink in Pakistan.”<\/p>\n
Musk responded to a request from a Pakistani netizen.<\/p>\n
Pakistan was the worst-hit country by internet outages in 2024. Elon Musk announced his intention to launch Starlink in the South Asian country at the beginning of the new year.<\/p>\n
According to independent VPN reviewer Top10VPN.com, the global internet outage period in 2024 was 88,788 hours, resulting in a financial loss of $7.69 billion.<\/p>\n
