The Wildlife Service Foundation has rescued a blue-throated coracias bird in Srimangal, Moulvibazar.<\/p>\n
On Thursday (January 30) night, Swapan Dev Sajal, director of the Wildlife Service Foundation, rescued the blue-throated coracias bird from the residence of a village policeman named Chanda Nayek in Sonachhara Tea Garden in Srimangal Upazila.<\/p>\n
He said that around 10 pm, the blue-throated coracias bird entered the house of village policeman Chanda Nayek, who lives in the garden. After receiving a call from Chanda Nayek, I rescued the bird along with environmental activist Rajdeep Dev Deep.<\/p>\n
The blue-throated coracias bird (scientific name: Coracias benghalensis) is a very well-known bird. The blue-throated coracias bird is 31-33 cm in size. It has a little blue color on the top of the head and blue on the underside of the feathers. However, this bird looks a lot like a banana leaf. They eat insects, worms, frogs, baby snakes, lizards, anteaters, chameleons, etc.<\/p>\n
The bird has been handed over to Wildlife Scout Tajul Islam of the Forest Department in Srimangala.<\/p>\n
