{"id":7589,"date":"2025-05-21T00:39:31","date_gmt":"2025-05-20T18:39:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thedailymorningsun.com\/?p=7589"},"modified":"2025-05-21T00:39:31","modified_gmt":"2025-05-20T18:39:31","slug":"11-indians-arrested-for-spying-for-pakistan","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thedailymorningsun.com\/?p=7589","title":{"rendered":"11 Indians arrested for spying for Pakistan"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\nInternational Desk \/\/<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">India has arrested 11 Indians on charges of spying for Pakistan, local media reported, citing police.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">NDTV reported on Monday that authorities have arrested nine &#8220;spies&#8221; from the northern states of Haryana, Punjab and Uttar Pradesh.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Punjab&#8217;s Director General of Police Gaurav Yadav said on Monday that police have arrested two people &#8220;involved in leaking sensitive military information&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">He said police have received &#8220;credible intelligence&#8221; that the two men were involved in exchanging secret information related to New Delhi&#8217;s attack deep inside Pakistani territory on the night of May 6-7.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Yadav added that initial investigations have shown that they were in &#8220;direct contact&#8221; with operators of Pakistan&#8217;s intelligence agency Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) and &#8220;passed on important information about the Indian armed forces&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In Haryana, police arrested a travel blogger on the same charges last week.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The accused woman had travelled to Pakistan at least twice and was in contact with an official at the country&#8217;s embassy, \u200b\u200blocal media reported, citing police.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Others arrested include a student, a security guard and a businessman.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">India Today reported the arrest of 11 people.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">It said the accused were &#8220;lured into the spy network through social media, financial inducements, false promises, messaging apps and personal trips to Pakistan&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The arrests come after the worst outbreak of violence between the nuclear-armed rivals since the last open conflict between Pakistan and India in 1999.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Express your opinion.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>International Desk \/\/ India has arrested 11 Indians on charges of spying for Pakistan, local media reported, citing police.
