Police have recovered the hanging bodies of a mother and daughter from their home in Zakiganj, Sylhet.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The bodies were found hanging from a ceiling fan in their home in the Barhal Union area of \u200b\u200bZakiganj Upazila around 8:00 PM on Saturday (September 5).<br \/>\nThe deceased were identified as housewife Champa Rani Das (35) and her daughter, Hridi Rani Das (5). Champa Rani Das was the wife of Ratan Das, a jewelry merchant at Shahgali Bazar in Zakiganj Upazila. It has also been reported that Champa Rani Das was pregnant.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Police stated that locals discovered the hanging bodies of the mother and her five-year-old daughter around 8:00 PM on Saturday. Upon learning of the incident, locals immediately informed the police. Police arrived at the scene and proceeded to recover the bodies. At the time of writing this report, police remained at the scene and were preparing inquest reports for the bodies.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Sajal Das, a relative of the deceased and a cousin of Ratan Das, stated that the hanging bodies of Champa Rani Das and her daughter were recovered from a room in their home. They are unable to fathom the reason behind this tragic death of the mother and daughter. Although the incident is initially suspected to be a suicide, they are not certain of the actual cause.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Muhammad Abdur Razzaq, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Zakiganj Police Station, said, &#8220;Upon receiving news of the incident, Zakiganj police immediately went to the scene. Inquest reports for the two bodies will be prepared, and they will subsequently be sent to the morgue at Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College for autopsies.
