The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) conducted a raid at Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital following allegations that doctors were failing to adhere to scheduled working hours and were absent from their workplaces. Preliminary evidence has been found to substantiate these claims.<\/p>\n
The ACC’s Enforcement Unit uncovered this information during the operation on Tuesday (September 8).<\/p>\n
A team from the ACC\u2019s Integrated District Office in Sylhet visited the hospital and requested biometric attendance records for the doctors covering the last 30 days. Simultaneously, they collected relevant documents, including duty registers and leave registers.<\/p>\n
An initial review by the ACC confirmed the veracity of allegations\u2014previously reported in various media outlets\u2014that doctors were not observing their designated working hours.<\/p>\n
During the operation, the ACC team also assessed the state of healthcare services at the hospital. They inspected the facility firsthand to verify whether patients were receiving proper care and offered necessary recommendations.<\/p>\n
The Enforcement Team will analyze the collected biometric attendance data, duty registers, leave registers, and other documents. Subsequently, a detailed report regarding the nature of the irregularities and the individuals responsible will be submitted to the Commission.<\/p>\n
The ACC Enforcement Unit stated that, following a review of the preliminary information and documents gathered during these operations, recommendations regarding further action will be submitted to the Commission.<\/p>\n
