Meanwhile, a commercial vessel was attacked near Iran’s Qeshm Island, leaving one person dead and four injured. An Iranian official blamed the United States for the attack, labeling the country a “terrorist enemy.”<\/p>\n
Amidst this situation, a meeting is scheduled between Iran and Gulf nations to de-escalate regional tensions. The meeting is set to take place in Oman on Monday. Discussions are expected to focus on the Strait of Hormuz and initiatives to strengthen regional security.<\/p>\n
The Strait of Hormuz is one of the world’s vital energy supply routes. Concerns regarding the security of this route have mounted amidst recent tensions. Regarding the meeting between Iran and Gulf nations, US President Donald Trump stated that it “doesn’t matter” to him if the two sides choose to meet.<\/p>\n
