The injured have been admitted to a local hospital for women and children.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The incident occurred around 6:50 PM yesterday (Sunday) inside the premises of the F&amp;F garment factory at Jamgora intersection in Ashulia. Fire Service Deputy Assistant Director Hafizur Rahman and Ashulia Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Tarikul Islam confirmed the death toll of seven around 11:30 PM.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The identities of five victims recovered from the lorry could not be immediately confirmed as their bodies were completely charred. Additionally, several vehicles parked near the lorry caught fire, and a covered van was gutted. Upon receiving the news, four Fire Service units arrived at the scene and worked to bring the fire under control.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">After fully controlling the blaze, Fire Service personnel searched the burnt vehicles around 10:30 PM and discovered the charred bodies of five individuals inside the lorry. Another person, Nazrul Islam, who had sustained severe burns, died after being taken to the Burn Institute at Dhaka Medical College Hospital. Meanwhile, a woman named Zainab Begum died on the spot after a gas cylinder, propelled by the explosion, struck her at a tailor shop adjacent to the garment factory.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">According to police and eyewitnesses, workers had left the factory for home after their shift ended around 5:00 PM. The explosion involving the gas-cylinder-laden lorry\u2014parked within the factory compound\u2014occurred at 6:50 PM. Flames instantly spread to nearby vehicles, including a covered van. Shrapnel from the exploding cylinders struck Zainab Begum on the head while she was at the nearby tailor shop, killing her instantly.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The deceased, Zainab Begum (55), was the wife of Mohammad Ali from the Ischarkandi area of \u200b\u200bKashimpur, Gazipur. She had come to visit her daughter&#8217;s home in Jamgora; her daughter runs the tailor shop in question.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The deceased&#8217;s daughter recounted that she and her mother were standing in front of the tailor shop when the incident occurred. &#8220;Suddenly, there was a loud noise. Before I could even realize what was happening, I saw my mother collapse to the ground. Then I saw a fire in front of the factory. Workers from the garment factory and people in the vicinity began running about in panic. My mother died right there at the scene.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Eyewitness Sumon Mia stated that because the Fire Service arrived late, many people present at the scene joined in the effort to control the fire. Locals initially tried to extinguish the flames using water, but the intensity of the fire made it impossible for them to bring it under control.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Somen Barua, Warehouse Inspector at the Ashulia DEPZ Fire Service, said, &#8220;We received news of the fire at our station around 6:50 PM. However, heavy traffic congestion on the Baipail road delayed our arrival at the scene. Four Fire Service units eventually reached the location and managed to bring the fire under control.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Fire Service Deputy Director Hafizur Rahman stated, &#8220;After fully bringing the fire under control, we searched several burnt vehicles. During the search, the charred bodies of five individuals were recovered from a lorry.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Mohammad Mominul Islam, Superintendent of Police for Industrial Police-1, reported that the body of a woman was recovered from in front of the factory gate, and the bodies of five others were retrieved from a lorry. Additionally, one person died at Dhaka Medical College Hospital. The woman who died at the scene was struck in the head by a piece of a gas cylinder during the explosion.
