“Education was destroyed in the past; we want to restore that environment,” remarked Abu Sayeed Chand, Member of Parliament for the Rajshahi-6 (Charghat-Bagha) constituency. He stated that students are the nation’s assets, and it is the teachers’ responsibility to ensure regular instruction; any negligence on their part in this regard will not be tolerated.<\/p>\n
He made these remarks while speaking as the chief guest at a reception ceremony held on Monday at 11:00 AM at Monigram Adarsha College in Bagha Upazila.<\/p>\n
Abu Sayeed Chand mentioned that plans are in place to construct a multi-story college building, renovate old structures, and fill in low-lying areas. Development will be carried out across all sectors, not just in educational institutions. Farmers will receive agricultural cards, and everyone will be provided with family cards.<\/p>\n
Referring to Ziaur Rahman, he said that upon assuming power, the martyred President Ziaur Rahman restored democracy. At that time, the country was facing famine; he set an example by initiating canal-digging projects to boost cultivation and meet food shortages, thereby introducing Bangladesh to the global stage.<\/p>\n
Regarding BNP politics, he described the BNP as a party of the common people. He asserted that while Ziaur Rahman restored democracy in the country, the Awami League destroyed it, and the BNP has been waging movements and struggles to bring that democracy back.<\/p>\n
He further warned that anyone engaging in business dealings or extortion by exploiting the party’s name would lose their standing within the party, regardless of how influential they might be.<\/p>\n
The event was presided over by Ruhul Amin, President of the College Governing Body, and moderated by Lecturer Hafizul Islam. The college’s Acting Principal, Mainul Islam Alal, honored the MP with flowers and a crest. Attendees included Upazila Secondary Education Officer Abu Jafar Ali, former college principal Fazlul Hasan Babu, founding president Alhaj Abu Gafur Fakir, teachers and students from various educational institutions, and leaders and activists from the BNP and its affiliated organizations.<\/p>\n
