Cultural Affairs Minister Nitai Roy Chowdhury stated that our history, heritage, and culture span thousands of years. The ousted Awami League government tarnished this cultural heritage through various sordid acts. The current government has established diplomatic and cultural ties with 51 countries.<\/p>\n
He made these remarks on Sunday night (September 21) while addressing the concluding ceremony of the auspicious birth anniversary of Sri Sri Thakur Anukul Chandra and the holy bathing festival in the Padma River, held at the Satsang Ashram in Himaitpur, Pabna.<\/p>\n
Nitai Roy Chowdhury remarked that the BNP is a government opposed to communalism; the party seeks to establish equality amidst disparity. For this reason, in the last parliamentary election, the country’s Hindu community voted for the ‘Sheaf of Paddy’ (BNP’s election symbol), thereby giving the party the opportunity to form the government.<\/p>\n
Speaking on the teachings of Thakur Anukul Chandra, he noted that the messages found in the scriptures of all religions are intended for the welfare of humanity. Similarly, the counsel offered by Thakur Anukul Chandra was also aimed at human well-being. He did not believe in caste-based discrimination and dedicated his entire life to celebrating humanity. Consequently, devotees honoring Thakur are found not only across the subcontinent but all over the world.<\/p>\n
Presided over by Sri Pran Shankar Das, President of the Satsang Central Ashram, and moderated by Dr. Naresh Madhu, the event featured speeches by special guests including State Minister for Cultural Affairs Ali Nawaz Mahmud Khaiyam; Special Assistant to the Prime Minister (State Minister rank) Bijon Kanti Sarkar; Member of Parliament for Pabna-5 (Sadar) Shamsur Rahman Shimul Biswas; Pabna Deputy Commissioner Aminul Islam; Additional Superintendent of Police Sakhawat Hossain; District BNP Convener Habibur Rahman Habib; Pabna Press Club President Akhtaruzzaman Akhtar; and District BNP Member Secretary Masud Khandaker, among others.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
