BNP Acting Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi has alleged that the country’s covert forces are lending support to Sheikh Hasina’s conspiracy. He stated that the fugitive fascist is attempting to destabilize the nation by pulling strings from India, while covert and dormant elements within the country are fanning the flames.<\/p>\n
He made these remarks at a protest rally organized by the Jatiyatabadi Swechchhasebak Dal against the orchestrated terrorism and arson attacks in the country. The event took place on Wednesday in front of the BNP’s central office at Nayapaltan in the capital. S.M. Jilani, President of the Jatiyatabadi Swechchhasebak Dal, presided over the program.
\nParticipants in the protest procession included BNP Vice Chairman Barkat Ullah Bulu (MP), Joint Secretary General Abdus Salam Azad, Assistant Economic Affairs Secretary Mahmudur Rahman Sumon, Swechchhasebak Dal General Secretary Rajib Ahsan, Vice President Fakhrul Islam Robin, and central leaders Dr. Jahid, Rafiqul Islam, Nazmul Hasan, Masum Billah, Jahir Uddin Tuhin, and Sheikh Farid, alongside leaders and activists from the Dhaka Metropolitan North and South units of the Swechchhasebak Dal.<\/p>\n
In his speech, Ruhul Kabir Rizvi issued a stern warning against those orchestrating terrorism, sabotage, and arson in the country. He stated that the fascist clique is weaving a web of conspiracy from abroad to destabilize the nation. However, the people of this country stand vigilant\u2014like tireless sentinels\u2014in support of truth and justice, ready to thwart all conspiracies. These streets have neither been sold to nor purchased by any other party; they belong to the hardworking people of this land. The BNP has consistently taken to the streets to ensure the people’s rights, opposing injustice, oppression, and attempts to destabilize the country.<\/p>\n
Highlighting the current global energy crisis and the government’s measures, he noted that the world is currently grappling with energy and gas shortages. Electricity supplies are severely disrupted in many countries; for instance, Cuba has been without power for 10 to 15 days, and oil supplies through the Strait of Hormuz in the Middle East are facing disruptions. Yet, some opposition leaders are spreading propaganda against the government without fully grasping the situation. The Acting Secretary General of the BNP stated that the Asian Development Bank (ADB) has already indicated the country’s economy is improving due to effective measures taken by the current government. Yet, a certain quarter is engaging in wasteful displays\u2014staging shows of strength with luxury and massive motorcades\u2014by capitalizing on the hardships of the people.<\/p>\n
He further remarked that, according to government records regarding the opposition party’s long march, 450 vehicles paid tolls at the Jamuna Bridge, whereas the Jamaat-e-Islami chief claimed they took a thousand vehicles. What was the necessity of taking so many vehicles to Chattogram or Rangpur? Even assuming there were 450 vehicles, the country would have benefited had that fuel been saved rather than consumed.<\/p>\n
