Zaima Rahman, daughter of Prime Minister Tarique Rahman, has been appointed as a legal officer in the office of Khalilur Rahman, the President of the 81st session of the UN General Assembly.<\/p>\n
There are a total of 40 staff members in Khalilur Rahman’s office; among them, six\u2014including Zaima Rahman\u2014are Bangladeshi.<\/p>\n
Khalilur Rahman assumed the role of President of the 81st UN General Assembly on September 8. Under his presidency, Tarique Rahman is scheduled to deliver his first address as the Prime Minister of Bangladesh at the General Assembly session yesterday, Thursday.<\/p>\n
According to UN officials, Zaima Rahman will oversee legal matters in her capacity as a legal officer in Khalilur Rahman’s office.<\/p>\n
Zaima Rahman is the only daughter of Prime Minister Tarique Rahman and Dr. Zubaida Rahman. She is the granddaughter of former President Ziaur Rahman and former Prime Minister Khaleda Zia.<\/p>\n
Zaima Rahman studied law at Queen Mary University of London and subsequently qualified as a Barrister-at-Law in the United Kingdom. She also passed the first stage of the Bangladesh Bar Council’s enrollment examination in June 2026.<\/p>\n
