Police have recovered the body of a young expatriate worker\u2014who had returned from Singapore\u2014hanging from a tree near the cowshed of his home in Bhairab, Kishoreganj. His hands and feet were tied.<\/p>\n
The body was recovered on Tuesday morning.<\/p>\n
The deceased, Rukun Uddin, was the son of Sattar Miah of Sarkar Bari in the East Nayahati area of \u200b\u200bKalikaprasad Union. He had returned home on vacation on August 21.<\/p>\n
The victim’s father, Sattar Miah, stated that Rukun worked as an electrician for a company in Singapore and had recently been promoted to the position of supervisor; he was scheduled to rejoin the company in that new role after his visit home. He added, “My son asked me for 10,000 taka to go on a trip, and I gave him the money. He had even gone shopping in Bhairab town with friends on Monday, planning to travel to Cox’s Bazar with them.”<\/p>\n
Rukun Uddin’s mother, Anufa Begum, said, “He was supposed to leave for Cox’s Bazar with his friends early Tuesday morning. After dinner, he had gone to sleep. I even heard him talking to someone on his phone around 1:00 AM.” The victim’s sister, Umme Habiba, said, “My brother was called out and murdered during the night; they even removed the SIM card from his mobile phone. We demand exemplary punishment for the killers.”<\/p>\n
Mahbubur Rahman, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Bhairab Police Station, stated, “Our preliminary suspicion is that miscreants killed him, then tied his hands and feet and hung the body from the tree. Necessary legal action will be taken based on the investigation.”<\/p>\n
