His younger brother, Dulal Hossain (50), was critically injured in the attack by the opposing party. Police have detained four women in connection with the incident.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The incident occurred on Saturday morning (October 3) in Charbhabkhali village under Bhangnamari Union of the upazila. The deceased, Makbul Hossain, was the son of the late Kasam Uddin from the same village.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">According to local sources and the police, Makbul and Dulal went on Saturday morning to sow *maskalai* (black gram) on a 16-*katha* plot of farmland\u2014which they claimed as ancestral property but which was officially listed as government *khas* land. At that time, four sons of their neighbor Amanat Mia\u2014Babul Mia, Jahangir Mia, Abdur Rashid, and Anarul Islam\u2014obstructed their farming activities.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">As tensions escalated between the two groups, Babul struck Makbul on the head with a stick he was holding, causing him to collapse to the ground.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Dulal Hossain alleged that the other brothers subsequently beat Makbul severely. He was also assaulted when he tried to save his brother.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Relatives and locals later rescued the injured Makbul and took him to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital, where doctors declared him dead.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Nazma, the deceased&#8217;s daughter, said, &#8220;Even though I ran to the spot, I couldn&#8217;t save my father. They beat my father to death.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Md. Habibur Rahman, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Gouripur Police Station, stated that the police have inspected the scene. Four women involved in the incident have been detained for questioning.
