Her body was brought to her husband&#8217;s home around 12:45 PM. Preparations were made to bury her at the graveyard adjacent to Jamtala Hat following her funeral prayers (Janaza) after the Asr prayer.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Bithi Akter was the wife of Rakibul Islam, a resident of Jatin Bordir Para near Jamtala Hat in Ward No. 6 of Uzanchar Union, Goalanda Upazila. She was a diploma midwife nurse. Her five-month-old son, Hozaifa, has been deprived of his mother&#8217;s affection since birth; he never even had the chance to be held in her arms.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Bithi&#8217;s husband, Rakibul Islam, stated that his wife underwent a Caesarean section at Faridpur Medical College Hospital on May 6, giving birth to a baby boy. Rakibul alleged that during the surgery\u2014conducted under the supervision of Dr. Tamanna and intern doctor Aravind\u2014gauze was left inside Bithi&#8217;s abdomen before the incision was stitched up.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">He said that Bithi suffered from severe abdominal pain and various physical complications immediately after the surgery. About two months later, following various tests, the presence of the gauze in her abdomen was detected. She subsequently underwent a second surgery at the same hospital and was treated in the hospital&#8217;s CCU due to her critical condition.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">As her condition deteriorated, she was transferred to Dhaka Medical College Hospital on October 5, where she passed away on Thursday morning.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Rakibul said, &#8220;I spent approximately 5 to 6 lakh taka on my wife&#8217;s treatment. Towards the end, unable to bear the medical expenses, I sought assistance from various people.&#8221; He alleged that while many provided financial aid for the treatment, neither the accused doctor nor the hospital authorities ever inquired about his wife&#8217;s condition. Rakibul demanded appropriate punishment for those responsible for the incident.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Bithi&#8217;s mother-in-law, Nazma Begum, said that her five-month-old grandson, Hozaifa, has been deprived of his mother&#8217;s love and affection. Since giving birth, Bithi was never able to hold her child in her arms or breastfeed him.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Bithi&#8217;s father, Sohrab Mondol, said he had struggled greatly to fund his daughter&#8217;s nursing education. Her husband, Rakibul, had also recently secured a government job. Although the arrival of the baby brought joy to the family, that happiness was short-lived.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">He demanded justice for his daughter&#8217;s death.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Local Union Parishad (UP) member and BNP leader Chunnu Mir Malat stated that Bithi died prematurely due to medical negligence. He called for a proper investigation into the incident and demanded action against those responsible.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Goalundo Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Md. Saiful Huda said, &#8220;I have heard the news of Bithi&#8217;s death; the incident is deeply tragic.
