The United Nations Fact Finding Team has invited primary information on human rights violations in the context of the movement from July 1 to August 15 of this year.
The United Nations Human Rights Office is conducting an independent and impartial investigation into human rights violations at the invitation of the interim government of Bangladesh. They published a press release in this regard on Monday (September 16).
It said that from July 1 to August 15 this year, all individuals, groups and organizations are invited to provide preliminary information regarding human rights violations and abuse of power.
This fact-finding team requested information that could not be found on social media and had not been published or publicized. OHCHR-FFTB-Submissions@un.org – The team requested all submissions to this e-mail.
The investigation team also plans to interview victims, law enforcement officials, medical professionals and witnesses to the incident. But the fact-finding team’s investigation is not a legal investigation. It operates independently of any national criminal justice process.
Strict confidentiality will be maintained in this information seeking process. Team members will not give media interviews during the investigation. They respectfully request everyone to respect the privacy of the information seeking process.
After the on-site inspections and data analysis, the UN Human Rights Office will publish a detailed human rights report with the main findings, conclusions and recommendations of the investigation.
