He said at the ongoing 79th session of the United Nations in New York, Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu must be stopped just as Adolf Hitler, the father of Nazism, was stopped a few years ago. This information is known from the report of Turkey’s state-owned news agency Anadolu Agency on Wednesday.

Erdogan also called on world leaders to dismantle Netanyahu’s assassination network. He strongly condemned the Israeli aggression in the region, calling Gaza a concentration camp.

Turkish President Erdogan said Netanyahu was trying to drag the entire region into war for the sake of his political fortunes. In the speech, Erdogan also heavily criticized the United Nations for its failure to stop the massacre in Gaza and called for reforms to make the organization more representative and effective.

He said the Security Council was too focused on the interests of the five permanent members, so the organization failed to protect international peace and security. Erdogan accused the United States and other countries of not holding Israel accountable for its violence against Palestinians.

He stressed the need for an immediate permanent ceasefire in Gaza as well as a hostage-prisoner exchange and uninterrupted humanitarian aid.

He also reiterated his country’s support for South Africa’s case at the International Court of Justice (ICJ) to hold Israel accountable for crimes against humanity in Gaza. However, he emphasized that the people of Turkey do not harbor any enmity towards the people of Israel.

Erdogan also said, “We are against the way Muslims are targeted because of our faith.” Likewise, we are against anti-Semitism. Our problem is with the genocidal policy of the Israeli government. Our problem is oppression and tyranny. Just as it was 5 centuries ago.
