Daganbhuana (Feni) Representative //

Two children died due to electrocution in Daganbhooya upazila of Feni. They are cousins. The accident took place in Paschim Dharmapur village of Zayalskar union of the upazila on Friday morning.

The two deceased children are Ashraful Islam (5) son of Ala Uddin of Amin Ullah Maulvi village of Paschim Dharmapur village of the upazila and Nazifa Akhter (7) daughter of Chalah Uddin of the same house.

According to local sources, children go to play in the field next to the house in the morning. Rural electricity wires were lying in that field. Two children were electrocuted by a carelessly torn wire while playing. When they were rescued and taken to the Upazila Health Complex, the doctor on duty declared both of them dead.

If asked, General Manager of Feni Palli Vidyut Samity Howladar Md. Fazlur Rahman said, ‘I will investigate the matter seriously. Departmental action will be taken if there is evidence of negligence by anyone of Palli Vidyut Samiti.

Mohammad Lutfar Rahman, officer-in-charge of Daganbhuna police station, said that action will be taken regarding the death of two children due to electrocution based on the family’s complaint.
