A group of young people performed Islamic music on the stage of Sharidiya Durgotsav in Chittagong. It has been alleged that the members of the Panjeri artist group, a cultural organization of the Islami Chhatra Shibir, have done this. Criticism is going on across the country. The incident took place on the stage of Sharidiya Durgotsava at JMsen Hall in the city organized by the Chittagong Metropolitan Puja Celebration Parishad at around 7:30 pm today. However, Islami Chhatra Shibir denied the matter.

According to eyewitness sources, on Thursday evening, leaders of various political parties went to greet Jamsen Hall to greet them. A group of Jamaat leaders also went there. At this time, a group of leaders and activists who were with them got on stage and performed Islamic music.

In a video that has gone viral on Facebook, five people can be seen holding a microphone and performing an Islamic song titled ‘Shudhu Musalmaner Lagi Aseniko Islam, Bishwa Mankan Kalyane Sarshtar Ee Bidhan’. Chowdhury Abdul Halim is the lyricist of the song. Many people at the venue expressed their anger about this.

Fakhrul Islam, President of Chittagong Metropolitan North of Islami Chhatra Shibir, said, “We have also heard the matter.” None of the Panjeri artists or the camp went to JMsen Hall today. The director of the Panjeri artist group is with me. He also says none of them went there. We will tell the matter on Facebook Live.

When asked if anyone from Jamaat-e-Islami had gone there, he said, “There is no need to go.” There is no question of us going there to perform Islamic music.

When asked, Morshedul Islam Chowdhury, Publicity Secretary of Jamaat-e-Islami, Chittagong City, said, “I am sick.” I was admitted to the hospital. I am at home now. I do not know whether anyone from Jamaat-e-Islami went to JMsen Hall.

When asked, Chittagong Metropolitan Police Deputy Commissioner (South) Liaquat Ali told the media, ‘Those who performed Islamic music also came to visit the Pujamandap. They performed Islamic music there with the permission of the puja celebration council. There is an uproar over it on social media. But there is no problem here. However, we are talking to the leaders of the Pooja Celebration Council in this regard. If they complain, action will be taken according to law.

In this regard, Ashish Kumar Bhattacharya, President of Chittagong Mahanagar Puja Udjakar Parishad and Hillol Sen, General Secretary, called several times, but they did not receive the call.
