A month-long discount has been announced in the hotel-resort-restaurant-transport sector for tourists visiting Bandarban. The discount was announced at a press conference organized by the Bandarban District Tourism-Related Business Coordination Council at the Hotel Grand Valley Conference Room on Thursday morning (November 7).
Speakers at the press conference said that after a long month of closure, tourists have started coming to the tourist spots of four upazilas of Bandarban Sadar, Alikadam, Lama and Naikshongchhari from Thursday due to the lifting of restrictions on tourists.
On this occasion, the District Tourism-Related Coordination Council announced a 35% discount on residential hotels, 25% on resorts, 10% on restaurants, and 20% on reserve tourist transport.
At the press conference, among others, were Bandarban District Tourism-Related Businessmen Coordination Council Convener Nasirul Alam, General Secretary Sirajul Islam, Bandarban Hotel Resort Owners Association General Secretary Jasim Uddin, Organizing Secretary Alauddin Shahriar, District Restaurant Owners Association President Gias Uddin, etc.
Due to unavoidable reasons, the local administration discouraged tourists from traveling to the Bandarban Hill District from October 8 to October 31. This restriction was in force until November 6.
