Lethal weapons cannot be used on students, Home Affairs Advisor Jahangir Alam Chowdhury has said. He said that it is better to hold a movement at a specific place than to block roads and hold a movement.
He said these things while talking to journalists after visiting the crop protection dam of Matian Haor in Tahirpur Upazila of Sunamganj with Forest and Environment Advisor Syeda Rizwana Hasan at 11 am on Tuesday (November 26).
Regarding the movement, he said that there is no need for movement for everything. The government is interested in solving problems through discussions. Students can solve problems by discussing among themselves. Student representatives should also play a role in resolving the crisis. There is no need to take to the streets, I request students in this regard.
At this time, Forest and Environment Advisor Syeda Rizwana Hasan said, “I have come to see that the dam of the haor does not break and damage the crops. The tourism industry must be developed by protecting the environment of the haor. Currently, there is a lot of water in the haor. The dam work cannot be started if the water does not decrease. The nature of the policy in implementing the project is not followed.
Later, the two advisors inspected the dams of Matian and Tanguar haor. Senior officials of the district administration and police administration were also present at this time.
