Indian media is trying to prove that Taliban government is coming to power in Bangladesh. This was commented by Foreign Affairs Advisor Md. Touhid Hossain.

He said, they are not happy with the mass uprising in Bangladesh. Now they are systematically spreading propaganda against Bangladesh. Not only India, but the media of the whole world is trying to prove that minority oppression in Bangladesh and Taliban government is coming to power, this is very unfair. This is creating wounds in the minds of people. Which will not benefit Bangladesh or India.

He said these things while speaking as a special guest at a day-long discussion meeting marking the 30th anniversary of the Center for Policy Dialogue (CPD) at the BRAC Center in the capital on Sunday.

The advisor on the Bangladesh, China, India and Myanmar (BCIM) Economic Corridor said, no matter what infrastructure is called rail or road, it is hardware. And hardware never works without software. The question is what software do we have. In the current situation, I don’t see the software. Now we need discussions, understanding and political decisions. BCIM’s ‘car rally’ took place about 15 years ago, after which nothing has been seen.

He said, due to the current situation between Bangladesh and India, it is difficult to implement Bangladesh, Bhutan, India and Nepal (BBIN). Besides, BBIN is not a concept of today, it was long ago, but nothing happened. Rather, it was the easiest to implement. Because each of its governments had good relations, there was no crisis among themselves. As a result, there is a problem in our region, which we have to solve.

In the third session of the discussion meeting on Sunday afternoon, ‘Influencing the Regional and Global Discourse’ or regional and global influence was discussed. Foreign Affairs Advisor Md. Touhid Hossain was present as a special guest. The discussion was attended by Sridhar Kshatriya, former Executive Director and Ambassador of the South Asia Center for Policy Studies, Professor Sachin Chakraborty, Director General of Research and Information Systems for Developing Countries, Dr. Ren Jia, former President of the Yunnan Academy of Social Sciences, Professor Dr. Derrick Willem, Director of the International Economic Development Group, and former Ambassador Faruk Sobhan. The third session was chaired by Professor Mustafizur Rahman, Honorary Fellow of the CPD.

The speakers said that there is a kind of instability going on in the countries of Bangladesh, China, India and Myanmar (BCIM) and there are various insecurity concerns. The main priority of the region is stability and security. As a result, states will have to work together to address concerns about the security of the region. This is what the speakers said during the CPD discussion on regional and global implications.
