About 43,000 Ukrainian soldiers have been killed in the Russian offensive, President Volodymyr Zelensky said. The BBC reported this information in a report on Sunday (December 8) night.

In a post on social media, the Ukrainian president said 370,000 were reported injured, although this number includes soldiers who were wounded multiple times and some injuries are described as minor.

He also claimed that 198,000 Russian soldiers have been killed and 550,000 wounded in the war.

Although both Kiev and Moscow have regularly released estimates of the other side’s losses, they are reluctant to give their own details.

Ukrainian officials do not usually release figures on military casualties in the war and other estimates have put the number of soldiers killed much higher. Despite Western aid to Ukraine, Russian attacks on the country have recently increased significantly, and Zelensky’s figures came as the country has seen a surge in attacks on the country, and the figures came amid a surge in Russian attacks on the country, despite Western aid to Ukraine.

Russian forces launched an all-out offensive in Ukraine in February 2022. Since then, thousands of civilians have been killed in the Eastern European country. In the two-and-a-half-year war, Russian forces have taken partial control of four Ukrainian provinces – Donetsk, Luhansk, Kherson and Zaporizhia.
