3 killed, 2 injured in Sylhet-Tamabil Highway road accident

3 people were killed and two were seriously injured in a road accident on the Sylhet-Tamabil Highway. However, two died on the spot. Another died while undergoing treatment.

The tragic accident took place at a place called Dhamri in the Dharbast area of ​​the Sylhet-Tamabil Highway Road at around 10:30 am today, Friday (December 20).

The deceased on the spot are Syed Mukhsud Hasan Mahan (20), son of Syed Juned Ahmed of Tatikona village in Chhatak upazila, Abdul Aziz Sayem (19), son of Abdur Rahman of Radhanagar village. Another person named Md. Hafizur Rashid (20), son of Abdul Hasim of Dakshin Bagbari area of ​​​​Sylhet Metropolitan SMP Kotwali Model Police Station, died while undergoing treatment.

The injured are Jamil (20), son of A. Sattar of Boro Bondi village in Companiganj upazila of Sylhet, and Mahi (21), son of Haji Jamil Ahmed of Mondlibog village in Chhatak upazila.

Locals and eyewitnesses said that on Friday morning, a private car decorated with a Chhatra Dal banner from Chhatak municipality area, which had left from Jaintapur Lalshapla Beel for Sylhet, lost control and hit an electric pole when it reached Dhamri area. The private car was crushed. Private car no.-(Dhaka Metro -G-213-3854). Two more people were seriously injured in this. Locals rescued the injured and sent them to Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital. Another person died while undergoing treatment there. It is initially believed that all of them were Chhatra Dal workers.

Sylhet-Tamabil Highway Police Officer-in-Charge Mohammad Habibur Rahman confirmed the incident to The Daily Morning Sun. He said the cause of the accident is being investigated.
