DMP Commissioner Sheikh Md. Sajjat Ali said that the prices of daily necessities are increasing due to extortion. The work of preparing a list of extortionists in Dhaka city is underway. The campaign will start in two-three days by preparing the list.
He said this at a view-exchange meeting held at Diploma Engineers Institution in Kakrail in the capital on Saturday (December 21) afternoon, involving police, students, public and citizens of Ramna Model Police Station area.
No one will extort. The DMP Commissioner also warned that no one will be spared if they extort.
Stating that robberies have increased in Dhaka, the DMP Commissioner said that mobile phone robberies have increased. Everyone should be aware when going out on the streets and ghats.
Regarding sidewalk hawkers, he said that it is inhumane to evict hawkers all at once. However, he requested the hawkers to remain on the streets in a restrained manner. However, no one can be bribed by hawkers.
The DMP Commissioner also said that motorcycles are risky vehicles. Two or three people on a motorcycle are very risky. We will bring the traffic system in Dhaka under discipline. Those who use the road must follow the discipline.
He gave a strict warning about riding motorcycles on the sidewalk.
The Dhaka Police Chief said that drivers constantly honk their horns in traffic jams. But what is the solution if they honk their horns in traffic jams? Action will be taken soon against those who honk their horns repeatedly.
