Home Affairs Advisor Lt. Gen. (retd.) Jahangir Alam Chowdhury said that a letter has been sent to the Foreign Ministry to bring Sheikh Hasina back from India.

He gave this information in response to a question from a journalist at a program at the BGB headquarters in Peelkhana in the capital on Monday (December 23) afternoon.

The Home Affairs Advisor said, ‘I have already sent a letter to the Foreign Ministry. To conduct an extra audition, it is under process.’

When asked about the way in which Sheikh Hasina will be sent back, he said, ‘We have a prisoner exchange agreement with India. It will be according to that agreement.’

Regarding the infiltration of 60,000 Rohingya, the Home Affairs Advisor said, ‘Not in two months but in the last one and a half to two years, 60,000 Rohingyas have entered the country. We will not allow the Rohingyas to enter under any circumstances. The entire border with Myanmar has been taken over by the Arakan Army. We are not in a position to talk to the BGB as we used to. We are trying to resolve this problem as soon as possible.’

The Foreign Ministry says that Rohingya infiltration is happening at the border through corruption. Asked whether the BGB is involved in the Rohingya infiltration, Jahangir Alam Chowdhury said, ‘If you go there, you will know what the situation is. There is a war going on there. You also know the situation there.’
