BNP’s name is being tarnished: Rizvi

Dhaka //

BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Advocate Ruhul Kabir Rizvi said that the Awami League looted banks before August 5. And after August 5, an Islamic party is occupying banks.

He also said that many people have occupied banks by becoming successors of S Alam, who occupied them during Sheikh Hasina’s tenure. BNP’s name is being tarnished by making big words. A party has occupied terminals in neighborhoods and by winning tenders.

Rizvi said that after August 5, the people have seen the embezzlement of a political party. The people know those who cut their legs. The Jamaat, which opposed 1971, is trying to catch fish in murky waters.

He said these things on Sunday morning after paying homage at the mausoleum of BNP founder martyr President Ziaur Rahman in Sher-e-Bangla Nagar in the capital.

Rizvi further said that not only neighboring countries are spreading propaganda, but two or three political parties in the country want to fish in troubled waters. He said that those who opposed 1971 have tried to fish in troubled waters.

On behalf of the nationalist Rickshaw Van Auto Sramik Dal, tributes were paid at the mausoleum of late President Ziaur Rahman, the founder of BNP.

Rizvi said that the July Revolution is the result of 16 years of uninterrupted movement. 97 working people were martyred while carrying out this movement. Rizvi commented that their contribution has set the entire nation on fire.

He further said that they do politics with Islam. Islam does not mean repeatedly committing hypocrisy. BNP has never backed down from its commitment to the people. From 1971 to August 5, BNP has never bowed its head on the issue of democracy. Rizvi alleged that Jamaat wants to forgive Sheikh Hasina to improve relations with India.
