Hasnat Abdullah, convener of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement, has announced to bury the Mujibist constitution. He also said that the Awami League will be declared an irrelevant political party in Bangladesh on December 31.

He made this announcement at an emergency press conference of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement at the Banglamotor office in the capital on Sunday afternoon.

Hasnat Abdullah said, the constitution of 1972 that people have stood against; the people have stood against the Mujibist spirit – the fascism of the Awami League that people have stood against, we want recognition to be given to standing against it. We want this Mujibist constitution to be declared buried. The news of the Mujibist constitution of 1972 will be written from the same place where the one-point announcement was made. From that very place, Awami League is an irrelevant political party in the context of Bangladesh, who did not recognize the masses as human beings, who did politics of torture, oppression, disappearance and murder, who stood against the hopes and aspirations of the people – we are expecting that in this July Proclamation of July Regulation – this Nazi party will be declared irrelevant in Bangladesh from there.

He also said, the dream that people have now that Bangladesh has been going through a culture of impunity for a long time – we want to announce a manifesto from this Shahid Minar to ensure justice in the Proclamation of July Revolution.

The convener of the anti-discrimination student movement said, “From every marginal town to the city of Bangladesh, those who came out on the streets before and after August 5 to build Bangladesh, we will meet again on December 31 at the Shahid Minar premises and we will declare our desire to build the next Bangladesh together.”
