ISKCON and Chinmoy Krishna’s accounts worth 240 crores found

The Bangladesh Financial Intelligence Unit (BFIU) has found around 240 crores in 203 bank accounts of the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) and Chinmoy Das.

Of this, 236 crores 42 lakhs were deposited in 202 accounts in the name of ISKCON. Of this, 223 crores 73 lakhs have been withdrawn till November 29. There is 12 crores 94 lakhs deposited in the bank accounts. In addition, 3 crores 92 lakhs were deposited in the name of ISKCON’s controversial leader Chandan Kumar Dhar alias Chinmoy Kumar Das. Almost all of the money has been withdrawn.

Sources related to the intelligence agency said that work has begun to find out who deposited money in these accounts and the source of the deposited money.

It is known that on November 30, the BFIU had ordered the suspension of bank accounts of 17 people from ISKCON, including Chinmoy Kumar Das, for 30 days. On the same day, the BFIU had sent this instruction to various banks and financial institutions in the country to suspend transactions in these bank accounts.

Those whose bank accounts were suspended are – Chandan Kumar Dhar alias Chinmoy Krishna Das, Kartik Chandra De, Anik Pal, Saroj Roy, Sushanta Das, Biswa Kumar Singh, Chandidas Bala, Jaydev Karmakar, Lipi Rani Karmakar, Sudhama Gaur Das, Laxman Kanti Das, Priyatosh Das, Rupan Das, Rupan Kumar Dhar, Ashish Purohit, Jagadish Chandra Adhikari and Sajal Das.
