The Indian Border Security Force (BSF) is helping Bangladeshis infiltrate to destabilize the situation in West Bengal, following the central government’s blueprint.

Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee made such explosive remarks at an administrative meeting at the West Bengal State Secretariat in Nabanna on Thursday. At this time, Mamata gave a strong message to the BJP government at the Center and the BSF regarding infiltration.

Claiming that West Bengal does not have bad relations with Bangladesh, Mamata said, ‘Infiltrators are being infiltrated into West Bengal by conspiring with the BSF.’

The Chief Minister said, ‘BSF is infiltrating infiltrators. We have information that the BSF is infiltrating people through Islampur, Sitai, Chopra and many other places. They are torturing women.

Mamata questioned in the meeting why the district officials are not protesting about this. Mamata also sought a report from DG Rajiv Kumar on which areas people were being smuggled in.

Chief Minister Mamata further said, “The border is not in our hands, it is in the hands of the BSF. The account of who is coming from outside is not in our hands, it is in the hands of the Center. Earlier, the list of those who came by plane was given, but now it is not given. As a result, we cannot know who is coming, who is entering. Trains, buses, everything is running. If someone thinks that we will defame the Trinamool by bringing in infiltrators into Bengal, it is not Trinamool doing this. Trinamool has no right, no means. The BSF controls the area, listen carefully. Some are putting the responsibility of the BSF on the shoulders of the Trinamool. I will tell them, be restrained, be sensitive, see justice and injustice.’

In the words of the Chief Minister, ‘The Trinamool does not guard the border, neither does the police. The BSF guards it. But the information reaches the police, the district magistrate also has information. That is, the police, the district magistrates have not fulfilled their duties. We have received some information from Rajiv Kumar and from local sources. I want my report. I will write a strong letter. We want peace there too, peace here too. There is no bad relationship between our two Bengals. Let’s speak in one language, someone can come for medical reasons, for humanitarian reasons. But we have to inform. Goons are being sent here. They are coming across the border and killing. Such people are being sent. There are many internal works of the BSF. There is a blueprint of the central government in it. Otherwise, this could not have happened.’

He said, ‘I have repeatedly told the Center, whatever you do, that is our way. But if I see that someone is supporting a militant attack to disturb my state, then we have to protest. Our protest letter will go.’

The recent wave of changes in Bangladesh has also hit the politics of neighboring West Bengal. Several cases of illegal infiltration, passport fraud and the arrest of militant members have come to the fore. The opposition Left, BJP, has been continuously attacking the state government in such incidents. This time, Mamata has responded by blaming the Border Security Force for the infiltration at the border. She has directly leveled allegations of conspiracy against the state against the central government.
