President Md. Shahabuddin has urged Kuwait to take more skilled and semi-skilled manpower from Bangladesh. In addition, the President has urged Kosovo to increase the import of various international quality products including ready-made garments, medicines from Bangladesh.
The President made this call when the newly appointed ambassadors of Kuwait and Kosovo to Bangladesh came to meet at Bangabhaban on Tuesday.
The ambassadors of Kuwait and Kosovo presented their credentials to the President at Bangabhaban today. Upon their arrival at Bangabhaban, a smart contingent of the Presidential Guard Regiment provided them with a guard of honor.
First, the newly appointed ambassador of Kosovo, Laljim Plana, presented his credentials. Then, Kuwaiti Ambassador Ali Thunayem Abdul Wahab Hamadah presented his credentials to the President.
Welcoming the new ambassador of Kosovo, President Md. Sahabuddin said that Bangladesh and Kosovo have excellent bilateral relations.
Stating that there is ample scope for increasing bilateral trade between Bangladesh and Kosovo, the President urged the new ambassador to take initiatives to increase the import of various international quality products including ready-made garments and medicines from Bangladesh. At this time, the President emphasized on the exchange of visits of businessmen and trade delegations between the two countries to increase bilateral trade and investment.
During his meeting with the newly appointed ambassador of Kuwait, President Md. Sahabuddin expressed hope that new doors of cooperation between Bangladesh and Kuwait would open in the future. The President urged Kuwaiti investors to invest in various sectors including infrastructure development, shipbuilding and energy in Bangladesh.
Stating that about 350,000 Bangladeshi manpower is working in Kuwait, the President urged Kuwait to recruit more skilled and semi-skilled workers from Bangladesh.
Highlighting the contribution of the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development to the infrastructure and economic development of Bangladesh, the President hoped that their cooperation would continue in the future.
In addition, the President sought Kuwait’s cooperation in supplying refined petroleum products to Bangladesh at competitive prices.
At this time, President Md. Shahabuddin called on the international community, including Kuwait and the OIC, to come forward so that the Rohingyas forcibly displaced from Myanmar can return to their country with dignity.
During the meeting, the Kuwaiti Ambassador praised the contribution of Bangladeshi workers to the economic and infrastructural development of his country.
The new ambassadors sought the President’s overall cooperation in carrying out their duties in Bangladesh.
At this time, the President’s Military Secretary Major General Mohammad Adil Chowdhury, Press Secretary Md. Sarwar Alam and Foreign Secretary Md. Jasim Uddin were present.
