Nayan, photo-collected.

The story of a fairy tale is even better than a fairy tale about the hotness of Dhirendra Nath Nayan, one of the companions of Bang Mohant. Now he has gone from zero to a millionaire. The extremely poor Nayan, who grew up in Ajopara in the Palash Janata Bazar area of Sunamganj district, migrated to Sylhet city about 15 years ago. Nayan, who had a dilapidated house, was accompanied by his entire family.
He started selling vegetables in the Islampur Majortila market with his biological father Aradhan and another brother Rinku, earning money on interest.
Out of the two other brothers, one brother joined the work of a pharmacy employee and the other brother joined the work of a CNG auto-rickshaw driver for hire. Even in this, the wheel of their fortune did not turn.
On the contrary, Nayan was caught in the net of a usurious group. Unable to repay the lakhs of rupees he had borrowed in interest on time, he was publicly tied up in Majortila market. At one point, unable to bear the humiliation, he attempted suicide under the pressure of debt, but the locals saved him. Meanwhile, another brother became disoriented after being accused of stealing CNG. Finally, his two brothers left the country and fled to India.
Meanwhile, Nayan gave up selling vegetables and took up tailoring. This too did not help. Later, he joined Ratan Moni Mohanty’s Sarada Palli. There, he became a servant of Ratan Moni alias Bang Mohanty’s family. Gradually, Nayan became Bang Mohanty’s trusted man. Sometimes, he would act as a plaintiff in assault cases on Bang’s behalf, sometimes as a witness and even as the owner of a fake power of attorney. His rise to power began when he was surrounded by Bang Mohanty.
After the Awami League government came to power, their network of mafia activities started spreading. They paid a large sum of money to Jiblu Majumdar, a top broker of the Settlement Office, to print fake papers in the name of the people and to seize various records and survey settlements.
In addition, several leaders and activists of the autocratic ruling party, government officials of Sonali Bank, sub-registers, teachers, police members, hundi traders and influential expatriates, as well as some local land grabbing groups, joined them. Mosques, temples, graveyards, enemy properties, hills (tila), and river and canal areas were not spared from their occupation. Such truths were found in the investigation. All those listed in their party are now millionaires.
After investigation, it is seen that currently they are trying to hide these properties worth crores of taka by changing their cover and scolding some leaders and activists of BNP-Jamaat. They have built up vast properties in various parts of the country, including Sylhet-Sunamganj.
It is also known from the ground that Nayan has already acquired several hundred acres of land for his own house in the Debpur Mouza of the Majortila area, with the blessings of Bang Mohant. Even the land like hills (tila) has not escaped his hands. He is destroying the environment and buying and selling land by cutting down the hills. That too under an irrevocable power of attorney. He has sold twenty hundred acres of land in the JL No. SA 96, B, S 81 of the Debpur Mouza, Khatian No. SA 871, Namjari Khatian No. 2803, B, S Print Khatian No. 1553, Dag No. S, A 1262, B, S 4277 No. Dag. That too at a price of crores of taka.
Several people who did not want to be named told the reporter that Jamshed Ali Chowdhury (expatriate), son of the deceased Md. Rahat Ali Chowdhury of Sourav A/A, 52, Rainagar Dorji Para, gave the said land to the alleged millionaire Nayan as a power of attorney. Later, he cut down a hill about 150 feet high and made it flat and stretched the electricity line over that land. Preparations are underway to sell several more plots in the area by showing the thumbs up to the CCIC authorities and the Department of Environment.
On the spot, it was seen that Nayan is trying to destroy several more hills (hills). The process of stretching the electricity line over the hills has been abandoned. Which is prohibited by law. Despite all this, this Raghav Boalra remains beyond the reach of the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC). Another source said that Nayan can leave the country at any time. He has already taken the membership card of India.
Meanwhile, locals have said that if a proper investigation is conducted, their land grabbing of about 300 bighas, fraud, encroachment of enemy property, grave sites, mosques and temples, and huge government revenue evasion worth crores of taka will come out in the open.
