Israel’s special security cabinet has finally approved the Gaza ceasefire agreement reached with Hamas.
This was announced in a statement released by the Israeli Prime Minister’s Office on Friday.
The statement said that Israel’s security cabinet “considered all political, security and humanitarian aspects and found the proposed agreement to be conducive to achieving the war’s goals” and accepted the agreement.
At the same time, the Israeli cabinet also recommended that “the Netanyahu government approve the proposed outline.”
The agreement will now be sent to the full Israeli cabinet, the Knesset, for discussion and voting.
The 15-month-long war in the besieged Gaza Strip has devastated a large part of the valley. Israeli forces have killed more than 47,000 Palestinians in a continuous offensive. At the same time, it has repeatedly displaced most of the 2.3 million population. Finally, this bloody aggression is about to end through an agreement.
