Members of the Commission of Inquiry on Enforced Disappearances met with Chief Advisor Professor Muhammad Yunus.
They held the meeting at the State Guest House Jamuna on Sunday (January 19).
At the time, Professor Muhammad Yunus said that he will soon visit Ainaghar. Informing him about the progress of the investigation into the disappearances, the members of the commission requested him to visit the ‘Joint Interrogation Cell’, which is known as ‘Ainaghar’. They said that if he visits the ‘Ainaghar’, the victims of disappearances will be reassured and will feel safe.
At the meeting, the commission members described the brutality of some disappearances. Even a six-year-old child has been a victim of disappearance, according to the commission’s investigation. Responding to the commission’s call, the chief advisor said, “The incidents that have come to light in your investigation are shocking. I will visit the mirror house soon.”
