Noting that BNP will welcome youth if they form a new party, BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman said that the country’s students and youth have become interested in state politics and the political system. This is certainly a positive aspect. These youth have not been able to vote in a single election in the last one and a half decades. If any of these youth, deprived of democratic political rights, form a new political party to establish the rights of the people, BNP will certainly welcome that initiative. However, if anyone takes state or administrative support while forming a political party, it will disappoint the people.

He said these things at the National Teachers’ Day and Teachers’ Rally at the Engineers Institution in the capital on Saturday.

Tarique Rahman said that if their behavior or statements towards other political parties are quarrelsome or vindictive, that will also be undesirable for the people. Of course, today’s youth are the future of Bangladesh. The youth will come out of the past and forge a new path. However, not on a questionable path, the path should be transparent and natural.

Calling for unity on behalf of Bangladesh, Tarique Rahman said, “I think that misunderstandings between the interim government and the pro-Bangladesh democratic forces on any issue is a waste of time. At the same time, I would like to draw the attention of the government and say – if the people can patiently accept the government’s failures in various areas for the greater good, then I also think that those in the government should be much more patient.”

Calling for not creating controversy over the election, Tarique Rahman said, “BNP’s mind is not about politics about the people, but politics for the people. Therefore, we want to ensure the political and economic power of the people of the country at any cost. Elections are one of the main tools of the people’s political power. Creating controversy over the election means strengthening the position of the defeated and fugitive fascists without their knowledge.”

Asking questions about the interim government, he said, “People believe that it is easy for a non-partisan, non-political government supported by everyone like the interim government to free the people from the clutches of the market syndicate.” So now the question is – why has the government failed to control the market for so long? Why is the burden of reverse VAT being imposed on the people?” Why is the violence of the market syndicate going on now? In such a situation, it is natural for questions to arise in the minds of the people. So, is someone in the government more focused on other issues? Or is the government not able to do it?

Under the chairmanship of Principal Selim Bhuiyan, President of the Teachers-Employees Unity Alliance, and moderated by Acting Secretary General Zakir Hossain, the teachers’ rally was also addressed by BNP Standing Committee member Gayeshwar Chandra Roy, Dr. Abdul Moin Khan, Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury, Vice Chairman Barkat Ullah Bulu, Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi, and teachers from various districts.

Also present were BNP Standing Committee member Selima Rahman, Chairperson’s Advisor Abdus Salam, Nagorik Oikya President Mahmudur Rahman Manna, former State Minister for Education Anam Ehsanul Haque Milon, and others.

Expressed their opinions.
