Trump’s warning about China’s new AI DeepSec

US President Donald Trump has referred to the new technology developed by the Chinese company DeepSec regarding artificial intelligence (AI) as a warning for US companies. However, he sees the initiatives of Chinese companies to create relatively cheap and fast AI systems as positive.

Trump said in Florida on Monday that the launch of DeepSec AI (artificial intelligence) developed by the Chinese company is sending a warning to our companies that we need to keep winning the competition at the center of our attention.

Investors sold their technology shares around the world yesterday. They fear that the rise of the low-cost Chinese intelligence model will threaten the dominance of US-based AI technology. The situation on Wall Street in New York’s capital market is turbulent due to China’s low-cost DeepSec. The share price of chip manufacturer Nvidia has fallen by 50 billion US dollars. The share prices of other US technology companies are also down.

Trump said, “I’ve been reading about China and some Chinese companies. One company in particular is coming up with a relatively fast and very low-cost AI system. And that’s good. Because you don’t have to spend a lot of money. I see it as a positive, I see it as an asset.”

Trump also explained why he thinks it’s positive. He said, “I see it as a positive. Because you guys will do it too. Hopefully, you won’t have to spend a lot of money, but you’ll get the same results.”

Trump claimed that Chinese leaders told him that the United States has the most talented scientists in the world. Trump indicated that if Chinese companies come up with relatively low-cost AI technology, American companies will use it.

Trump said, “We always have ideas. We’re always the first in this field. So I would say that the fact that something very positive is being created is also positive. So instead of spending billions of dollars, if you spend less, I hope you get the same solution.”
