Awami League is a dangerous political party, the people of Bangladesh will never accept a public enemy party, BNP Joint Secretary General Syed Emran Saleh Prince has commented. He made this comment in a recent talk show organized by GTV.
In the first question, it was asked that Awami League is not banned, Awami League is a registered political party. In the eyes of the law, they have the right to hold meetings, so from that point they are now announcing programs. So will people get a message from this that Awami League is returning to politics?
In response, Syed Emran Saleh Prince said, what can I say about the question you have asked! Awami League is a dangerous political party, a mass murderer, an enemy of the people. They are so shameless, brazen that you yourself said that they killed thousands of students and youth in just 36 days. Before that, 15 years of disappearances, murders, crossfire, corruption, looting, and arbitrary power meant an authoritarian misrule, bringing an aggressive power here, establishing hegemony. So those who did these things, that means they fell and a deplorable fall in history, but this did not happen in Bangladesh. Yes, there were more dictatorships in Bangladesh. Ershad fell in the 1990s mass uprising. But he did not leave the country, he did not flee the country. And he said that I will not go anywhere, I will stay here or if I am judged, I will be judged.
But Sheikh Hasina or the Awami League could not show this courage, because they have a weakness in that place. He knows what he has done, he has fled the country. By fleeing, they are an exiled party, meaning everyone from the top to the grassroots, everyone is there. That means they have laundered thousands of crores of taka, they are staying abroad with that money. They are sitting there and giving programs. A romanticism seems to be working among them and they also wonder what happened or what is happening here in Bangladesh. They have no minimum sense of remorse for what they have done. They have no minimum sense of remorse.
The second question asked, let’s say they have no moral sense and they took to the streets. Isn’t the Awami League a banned political party, then?
In response, he said, many things cannot be considered by law. Yes, legally the Awami League is not a banned political party. They are not banned till now, but they are people-haters, they are mass murderers, they are enemies of the people. The people of Bangladesh will never accept this mass-enemy party, never will. Yes, if they had apologized to the nation for this genocide, if they had repented, then the people could have considered it, but those who do not have that sense of remorse are shamelessly lying one after another.
That escaped Hasina, we have heard her telephone conversations or even a couple of telephone speeches, we have heard her in some foreign programs, this is a shameless, fascist statement. And the statement they gave the day before yesterday, there they mentioned her as the Prime Minister. Does that mean this is a puppet play? By doing this, they proved that they are shameless, brazen and with these provocative activities, which I could not finish, their leaders have fled, right, some of their workers and supporters are in the country, they were also trying to live a little better, meaning they endangered their lives or their future.
Give your opinion.
