Three flights from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport have been diverted to Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport in Kolkata, India due to dense fog.
Dhaka airport sources said on Monday (February 3) that three flights, including two from Jazeera Airways from Kuwait and one from SalamAir from Muscat, have landed at Kolkata airport.
According to flight radar, two Jazeera Airways flights were scheduled to land at Dhaka airport at 4 am and 5:30 am on Monday, February 3. The SalamAir flight was scheduled to arrive at 4:40 pm.
Several flights to Dhaka have been delayed since 4 am.
Flights from Sharjah, Dubai, Kolkata, Singapore, Jeddah and Doha have been delayed by one to three hours.
The Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh said that three to four domestic and international flights departing from Dhaka are being delayed. However, the number of flight diversions has decreased significantly due to improvements in Instrument Landing Systems (ILS).
