BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said, ‘The students and people of Bangladesh have achieved success in the coup by overthrowing the fascist Hasina government. But unfortunately today… we should not fall into Hasina’s trap. Today, the country’s stability is being destroyed. Instability is being created; Hasina’s fascist regime is completely responsible for this. We have to tread carefully.

The BNP Secretary General said these things in front of the waiting journalists after landing at the capital’s Hazrat Shah Jalal International Airport on Sunday afternoon. He returned home from the United States that day.

BNP Media Cell Member Shairul Kabir Khan said that the party’s Secretary General and National Standing Committee member Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury landed at 4:58 pm. Barrister Zaima Rahman, daughter of BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman, has returned to London from the United States.

Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury and Zaima Rahman, representative of the party’s Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman, were invited to the ‘National Prayer Breakfast’ in Washington on February 6 and 7.

About the trip, Mirza Fakhrul said that their visit to the United States was very successful. It was successful for the purpose it was intended for.

‘Khaleda Zia is fine’

In response to journalists’ questions about Begum Zia’s health and whether she will undergo treatment in the United States, Mirza Fakhrul said, ‘Madam is fine. Treatment is underway.’

Regarding the delegation’s experience with Zaima Rahman, he said, ‘Good, good experience.’

‘Darkness cannot be removed with darkness’

Mirza Fakhrul added, ‘One darkness cannot be removed with another darkness to remove one darkness. We have to remove it with light. We have to move forward by lighting that beacon.’

He said, ‘We want to appeal to all concerned, everyone should unite together and continue our work to protect the independence and sovereignty of this country, to maintain stability and to establish democracy against fascists.’

When asked about ‘Operation Devil Hunt’, Fakhrul said, ‘We were outside, we don’t know ‘Devil Hunt’. ‘Devil Hunt’ means we know fascists. I have come to my senses after so long, for that I thank you.’
