8 pieces of gold bars have been recovered from Sylhet Osmani International Airport. The airport customs authorities seized these 8 pieces of gold bars from a flight from Dubai.
The gold bars were seized from a flight that departed from Dubai around 12:00 on Friday (February 14).
Assistant Commissioner and Divisional Officer of the Airport and Air Freight Department, Inzamam ul Haque, confirmed the matter.
It is learned that 8 pieces of gold bars were seized from an unoccupied seat inside the plane. The amount of gold seized is 928 grams. The current market value of the recovered gold is estimated at one crore taka. Further legal action is under process in this regard.
