At least 23 people have been killed in terrorist attacks in Pakistan, the country’s interior minister said. On Monday (August 26), he said, the attack took place in southwest Pakistan and the casualties occurred.

However, the details of the attack are still unclear. However, the country’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s office said in a statement that the attack took place on a passenger bus in Balochistan province.
In a separate report, Pakistani media outlet The Dawn said at least 23 people were killed in Balochistan’s Musakhail district early Monday after gunmen disembarked passengers from trucks and buses after checking their identities, killing at least 23 people, an official said.
According to Musakhail Assistant Commissioner Najeeb Kakar, armed men blocked the inter-provincial highway in Rarasham district of Musakhail and alighted passengers from buses. Those killed in the attack are said to be residents of Punjab.
He also said that during the attack, the gunmen set fire to 10 vehicles. Later, police and Levies officials reached the spot and started shifting the dead bodies to the hospital, he said.
Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfaraz Bugti has strongly condemned the terrorist attack. A statement issued by his office said, “He expressed his sincere grief and condolences to the families of those who died in the cowardly act of terrorists.”
Stating that terrorists and their accomplices cannot escape exemplary consequences, he said the Balochistan government will hunt down the terrorists.
Besides, Pakistan’s Union Information Minister Ataullah Tara has strongly condemned the brutality of the terrorists. He said the terrorists showed brutality by targeting innocent passengers near Musakhail. He also said that terrorists and their supporters will not escape exemplary consequences.
