UAE to provide support to Bangladesh in developing skilled human resources

If the young population can be transformed into skilled human resources, it will be easier for Bangladesh to receive investment from the UAE and other countries around the world, said Shahmiz Ali Al Dhahiri, Second Vice Chairman and Managing Director of the Abu Dhabi Chamber.

He said that by developing skilled human resources, the United Arab Emirates has shown success in attracting foreign investment as well as expanding its own investment. The UAE will provide support to Bangladesh in developing skilled human resources.

He said these things at a trade discussion meeting titled “Strengthening Economic Relations between Abu Dhabi and Bangladesh” in Abu Dhabi on Tuesday (February 25). A 29-member delegation led by Dhaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI) President Taskin Ahmed participated in the meeting. At the meeting, Dhaka Chamber President Taskin Ahmed called on the Emirates to invest in renewable energy, infrastructure and logistics, information technology, tourism and healthcare sectors.

He stressed on recruiting skilled manpower in the IT, textile and engineering industries from Bangladesh as well as importing agricultural products, ready-made garments, jute products and medicines.

Omar Al Hossaini, Head of Investor Engagement at the Abu Dhabi Investment Office, presented a keynote speech on the trade and investment potential of Abu Dhabi. On the other hand, Rizwan Rahman, former president of Dhaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry, presented a documentary on the trade and investment potential of Bangladesh. DCCI Senior Vice President Rajib H Chowdhury, Vice President Md. Salim Solaiman and members of the Board of Directors were present at the time.
