The new political party of the youth who led the mass uprising is being launched today. Its name was decided yesterday as the Jatiya Nagorik Party (NCP). The English version of the name of the new party will be ‘National Citizens Party’ (NCP).

The party will launch itself through a big gathering at Manik Mia Avenue in the capital at 3 pm today, Friday.

All preparations for the launch ceremony of the party are already almost complete. The stage is almost ready for the launch ceremony of the new party on the road in front of the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban on Manik Mia Avenue. The last-minute stage preparation work is now underway.

It is learned that the family members of the martyrs of the July Uprising and injured fighters will participate in the launch ceremony of the party. Apart from this, people will come from 64 districts of the country. Leaders of various political parties, diplomats and prominent figures will participate.

Leaders and activists have already started arriving at the venue with small processions. They are aiming for a big gathering at this launch ceremony.

The youth who came to participate in the inauguration ceremony said that a new sunrise will be seen in Bangladesh today, and that the youth will take oath today by forming a new political party to reflect the aspirations of the people of the country.

On behalf of the Jatiya Nagorik Party, Mushfiqur Us Salehin said that after 12 noon, the reserved area in front of the stage will be accessible only through the western entrance of Manik Mia Avenue (towards Aarong).

Earlier, a joint meeting of the National Nagorik Committee and the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement was held at the central office of the National Nagorik Committee at Bangla Motor in the capital on Thursday. The four responsible leaders of the National Nagorik Committee who participated there confirmed the name of the party and the leadership positions that have been finalized.

Hasnat Abdullah, the convener of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement, was finalized as the main organizer of the party’s south and Sarjis Alam as the main organizer of the north. In addition, the names of Nasir Uddin Patwari as the main coordinator and Hannan Masud as the joint coordinator were finalized.

It is reported that the new committee will lead until the next national elections. For this, the size of the party’s convening committee is being increased. A draft list of the committee has already been prepared. In it, frontline fighters who led the July movement have been given important positions. It is also reported that the discussed women leaders of the July movement are getting a place in the new party.
