Police have arrested three leaders and activists of the Awami League and the Volunteer League while consuming drugs in the Taltala area of ​​Sylhet metropolis.

The Kotwali Model Police Station conducted a raid on a business establishment adjacent to Nandita Cinema Hall in Taltala late on Tuesday (March 4) night and arrested them. The arrested are accused in various sabotage cases filed by the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement. Besides, Jhantu is an accused in another kidnapping case.

The arrested are – Satish Chandra Nath Jantu (50), vice-president of the Sylhet District Swechchhasebak League and former central member, a resident of the Kotwali Police Station area, Sumon Kumar (53), a volunteer League activist from the Mirza Jangal Manipur Rajbari area of ​​the city, and Md. Abul Hossain (51), an Awami League activist from the Jalalabad residential area.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of the Kotwali Police Station Md. Ziaul Haque said, based on a secret information, a raid was conducted at a business establishment in Taltala and they were arrested while consuming drugs. During this, a blood-stained Ram Da, along with local weapons and drug consumption equipment, were seized from them.
