‘The Helping Wing’ is helping the needy in exchange for two taka. Iftar of 7 dishes is being provided to the helpless, underprivileged people in exchange for two taka. This social organization, formed by a group of college students, is playing an important role by providing relief in the flood by distributing new clothes for two taka to the helpless Hindu people during Durga Puja, in addition to providing Iftar during Ramadan.
The organization launched the Iftar distribution program for two taka for the first time in Srimangal in 2021. Since then, they have provided Iftar to the underprivileged people for 28 days of every Ramadan. In continuation of that, they have started this program from the first day of Ramadan this time too.
On Sunday, at the initiative of the organization called ‘The Helping Wing’, members of the organization Hasnat Hridoy, Pratyay Hom Chowdhury, Faisal Ahmed, Labib Chowdhury, Fardin Ahmed, Tahim Chowdhury, Joy Chowdhury, Mashfi Ahmed, Ashfaq Adel distributed 7-course Iftar to more than a hundred helpless and underprivileged people in the city’s railway station premises for two taka.
This organization has played an important role not only during Ramadan, but also during the floods in Sylhet by providing relief to the helpless. They have set an example in providing food, clean drinking water, and emergency assistance to the affected people.
During Durga Puja, new clothes were distributed to helpless Hindu people for two taka, which has brought a ray of hope to their lives. In winter, “The Helping Wing” has protected refugees from the cold in winter by running a blanket distribution program. This kind of assistance has brought a new lifestyle and courage to every poor and helpless person.
Hasnat Hridoy, a member of “The Helping Wing”, said, “This small initiative can bring about a big change. We believe that if even a little help from us brings a smile to the faces of helpless people, then our goal has been achieved. If more people come forward to support this initiative, “The Helping Wing” will be able to extend their helping hand to the society on a larger scale.”
Pratyay Hom Chowdhury said, “Establishing equality in society and standing by people is real social service. Such initiatives prove the value of cooperation and humanity in our society anew. Organizations like “The Helping Wing” are truly an inspiration for the society.
