The ‘Warriors of July’, an organization of those injured in the July Movement, has given an ultimatum to ban the Awami League within 48 hours. They have announced a blockade of Dhaka city if a decision to ban it is not taken within this period.
The leaders of the organization made this announcement after a protest march today, Saturday, in front of the Raju Statue at Dhaka University.
Atiqul Gazi, who lost his arm in the movement, said at the rally, the Awami League cannot be rehabilitated in any way. If it has to be done, I will give it back. Two thousand martyrs and thirty thousand injured must be cured. I will not allow the Awami League to be rehabilitated in any way. I will tell the interim government, by all means, bring Hasina back to the country and hang her, and ban the Awami League.
The injured Maksudur Rahman said, I have to say with sadness that after 24 coups, the fighters are having to come down again. But Hasina has not been tried yet. Be careful immediately, otherwise the July warriors will come out on the streets in your name again.
The injured Arman Hossain said, rejecting the statement made by the ghost of the Awami League, President Chuppu and his chief advisor, if the Awami League is not banned within the next 48 hours, then we, the families of the July warriors martyrs from 64 districts, will head to Dhaka. There will be another mass uprising. In this uprising, not only will the Awami League be banned, but those who support the Awami League will also be brought to justice. The Awami League must be banned. Those who supported them must apologize immediately.
Abu Bakar Siddique, convener of the Warriors of July, said, a coup has taken place but the associates of the murderer Hasina are carrying out various conspiracies in every sector of Bangladesh. The state is standing on the loss of two thousand bodies and the limbs of thousands of injured. The trial of the murderer Hasina must be ensured immediately. Awami League should be banned and brought to justice.
