Syeda Rizwana Hasan, advisor to the Ministry of Environment, Forests, Climate Change and Water Resources, has commented that public awareness should be raised against false information.
She said this at a seminar at the Press Institute Bangladesh (PIB) on Sunday (March 23).
The environmental advisor said that the media’s responsibility is to present accurate information. However, in many cases, misleading information is being disseminated. This is creating misconceptions in the society.
She said that some news is published only to increase views.
In this, the real truth remains hidden. It is necessary to understand who owns the media. The structure of the media has changed a lot in the last 20-25 years. To ensure accurate news dissemination, these issues must also be considered.
