Saying that there are many conspiracies about voting, BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman said, everyone must be extremely vigilant in the fight to regain the right to vote in the February 12 National Parliament election. To vote on the paddy field, one must perform Tahajjud prayers and go to the polling station. Fajr prayers must be performed in front of the polling station. Because this time too, many conspiracies are being made about voting. A group has seized the ballot papers sent to voters abroad. This conspiracy is also going on inside the country. He said this at a public meeting at Panchrukhi Begum Anwara Degree College ground in Araihazar Upazila of Narayanganj at 3:30 am on Friday.
The BNP Chairman said, you have not been able to vote for the last 15 years. Just as voting took place in Nishira earlier, now a new conspiracy has started. You have seen how a group seized the ballot papers of the expatriates. Only the vigilant presence of the people can stop these conspiracies.
He said that over the past 15 years, not only the people’s right to vote, but also the right to speak was taken away. More than 1,500 people gave their blood to establish that right, more than 25,000 people were injured. The country gained independence with blood in 1971, and on August 5, 2024, the students and the public defended that independence with blood.
At the public meeting, Tarique Rahman took out two cards from his pocket and said that if the BNP comes to power, practical programs such as creating a family card, a farmer’s card and skilled manpower before employment abroad will be implemented.
Meanwhile, Nazrul Islam Azad, Dhaka Divisional Co-Organizing Secretary of the BNP National Executive Committee and candidate for the paddy sheaf symbol from Narayanganj-2 (Araihajar) constituency, said that BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman participated in election rallies in 7 districts on Thursday ahead of the 13th National Parliament elections. In his speeches at these rallies, he urged voters to vote for BNP by voting for the paddy. After the rallies, he returned to Dhaka early Friday morning. On the first day of the election campaign, Tarique Rahman held seven rallies in 16 hours.
Tarique Rahman addressed the rally at 4 am at the Begum Anwara Degree College ground in Panchrukhir, Araihazar upazila of Narayanganj. After that, he left for Dhaka. When Tarique Rahman reached the rally site in the morning, excitement spread across the field. Lakhs of people waited to see Tarique Rahman from Thursday afternoon until Friday morning. Upon reaching the rally site, he waved to the leaders and activists and greeted them. At one stage, he came down from the stage and shook hands with the crowd. Earlier, on Thursday, he started the rally from Sylhet on the first day of the election campaign.
