The July protesters will lead the world one day, said Professor Dr. Muhammad Yunus, the chief advisor to the interim government.
The chief advisor said that just as the July movement opened the door to new possibilities in the country’s politics, the Digital Device and Innovation Expo will open new possibilities in the information technology sector. July protesters will lead the world one day. The protests that arose after the internet was shut down in the July coup led to the fall of a powerful government.
He said these things at the inauguration of the ‘Digital Device and Innovation Expo-2026’ organized at the Bangladesh-China Friendship Conference Center on Wednesday (January 28) afternoon.
Muhammad Yunus said, ‘The digital sector is the main sector at present. Because, change will come from this. All other sectors will be affected by this sector.’
He said, although the digitization of citizen services is on paper, it has not been implemented in reality. The government will only create a system and leave it in the hands of the people. The people will use it as they wish. This is the power of information technology.
At that time, the Chief Advisor spoke about internet facilities in the Chittagong Hill Tracts. He said, ‘Out of 2500 schools in the three districts of the hills, only 12 schools had internet connection. In a school where there are no teachers, the internet can work as the best teacher in the school.’
