The death toll in the ongoing floods in the country increased by eight more in a day. As of Monday (September 2), 67 people have died in the floods in 11 districts. 26 of them are in Feni.

This information is known from the updated report on the ongoing flood situation of the Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief on Monday (September 2).

According to the report, the number of people who died in the flood is 67 people. Among them 42 men, 7 women and 18 children. 17 died in Comilla, 26 in Feni, 6 in Chittagong, one in Khagrachari, 11 in Noakhali, one in Brahmanbaria, one in Lakshipur, 3 in Cox’s Bazar and one in Moulvibazar. One person is still missing in Moulvibazar.

The flood situation in Chittagong, Khagrachari, Habiganj Sylhet, Brahmanbaria and Cox’s Bazar districts is completely normal. The flood situation in Moulvibazar has improved and the flood situation in Feni, Comilla, Noakhali and Lakshipur is improving, the report said.

According to the report, 6 lakh 5 thousand 767 families are still under water, and the total number of affected people is 51 lakh 8 thousand 202 people. People are returning home from shelters as the overall flood situation has improved. Ministry of Disaster Management said that 3 lakh 6 thousand 741 people and 32 thousand 830 cattle have been sheltered in 3 thousand 615 shelters. The report also said that a total of 472 medical teams are operational to provide medical services to the victims of eleven districts.
